Surely, it might be hard to find a healthier indictment facing marrying out of the covenant and you may a stronger plea to help you get married in the brand new covenant. Its minds was basically turned from the Jesus away from Abraham, the Jesus out of Isaac, in addition to God out of Jacob. It’s wonder the brand new prophets mourned thus considerably and you will condemned thus firmly relationships from the covenant while they attempted to remain Israel connected to the covenant with Goodness.

He went on to say that “the Savior [whose birth and you can mortal life naturally then followed Elijah] had expert and you will capacity to bestow this blessing” but did not since the house from Israel wasn’t worthy otherwise prepared to discover they

No conversation of ent would be done in place of a discussion out of the sealing energies. The very last one or two verses from the Old testament promise: “Behold, I’m able to give you Elijah the prophet before the upcoming regarding the great and you will dreadful day of the father: And he shall turn the center of one’s fathers to the children, additionally the heart of youngsters to their fathers, lest I come and you may smite the world with an excellent curse” (Malachi 4:5–6). It promised fix is actually of such great pros that in case they just weren’t found, the complete world would be smitten having an effective curse, or utterly squandered, because it reads inside Joseph Smith-Background step 1:39 and you will Doctrine and you can Covenants dos:3. Out of second-time revelation, we know one Elijah would be to be taken to fix the latest securing vitality, the benefit so you can bind for the eden what is actually bound in the world. In the event it repair included the power and power so you can “secure and you will examine all the ordinances of priesthood to make sure that ordinances performed on earth try binding inside paradise as well,” it is best recognized for communicating the authority to join and you will seal parents to possess eternity. Malachi doesn’t make simple the relationship involving the Old testament prophet Elijah and sealing efforts. Hence, Elijah was not the last prophet to hang this type of tips but seems to be the final whom resolved him or her in the olden days and you can are the only god designated to bestow people techniques with the someone else. Robert L. Millet told me: “Brand new important factors of kingdom off Jesus are for the environment if high priesthood are in the world; there needs to be acquisition inside your home regarding God. Men and women tactics would have been stored of the Lord’s anointed once committed of Elijah. Elijah wasn’t the very last boy to hang tips about Old-testament months, since many performed shortly after your, but he was the final one out of the old Testament commissioned to go back about dispensation of the fulness of that time period to ensure you to ‘the ordinances is dealt with in the righteousness.’”

We have after that witness of the need for Elijah’s goal since the it’s mostly of the prophesied occurrences said throughout of your own practical functions
